Most perfect ? - they have no charities except for the life-preserving one way information barage
Abel tended to animals that wandered about and fed here and there - Cain was the one who grew vegetables.
kero-kero's goodbye post brought me to mind a common complaint amongst jw apologists, that all we do is bring up the bad stuff and old history.
after all, "nobody's perfect".
well, that would be fine and dandy if the wtbts hadn't set themselves up as the sole mouthpiece for jehovah in these 'last days'.

i have been out for years now but i still tremble alittle when i run into an elder at the store or run into an elder on the street and my post question certainly applies to me as well but why do i still have fear of jw's elders?
i have been da'd for so many years but that fear still comes up.
and reading alot of the post here i still see ex-jw's and jw's faders living a pretended jw life or pretending to be happy when they are miserable in the wt.
I have a healthy respect of their ability to stir up trouble.
Yeh, it's not that they have authority - it's simply a realistic reduction in stress and loss aversion for many people - many people's experience is that they are vindictive - ill-willed - kinda like when a snake is in your vicinity - it's not that you respect an authority, you just want to know where it is and what it's doing, and not give cause for alarm - because they can be trouble - and it's a pain in the a$$ to do something to them, because then the authorities will say, "Why did you harm the snake ? it wasn't doing anything! ". It's just how it is - a vexing thing. Some people just continue to act nice so they'll go away without any fuss.
paduan (of the sinewy, whippy, slightly curved, strong and longish, thick stick bearing but keeps it to himself class)
check out jeremiah 52:30 in the new world translation, it says:.
29 in the eighteenth year of nebuchadrez zar, from jerusalem there were eight hundred and thirty-two souls.. 30 in the twenty-third year of nebuchadrez zar, nebu zarad an the chief of the bodyguard took jews into exile, seven hundred and forty-five souls.. all the souls were four thousand and six hundred.. what this shows is the societys teaching that jerusalem was desolate, is not supported by scripture.
it was not literal.
When the pressure of truth surrounding the 607 date business, and 1914, causes enough of a wave of embarrasment for the wtbts, there'll be an unhighlighted introduction of 'new light' about 1914 not be a literal or exact time, but rather an ethereal or symbolic time.
And the congregation will go, "hmmmmmm, yessss - praise the truth" - sending a shiver down the spine of onlookers, and other 'thinking ones'.
no matter what any pompass ass witness says about the religion being the "truth", they cannot refute the simple fact that nothing they have ever predicted has come true.
that's a pretty poor record for gods' chosen people.
oh sure they can point to lame obvious things such as " critical times getting harder to deal with" (even that is debatable), but no hard facts to point to that show they are right, or have ever been.
Wow, they even get it wrong when it's 50 - 50
"but in looking to god for his holy spirit we may not overlook god's manner of imparting his spirit.
not only must we study god's word, have the right mental attitude and pray for god's spirit, but we must recognize god's visible organization.
god is consistent, a god of order, not a god of disorder, even as his word assures us.

"let no man deceive you with empty words.
It shows the incredulous nature of the disrespect that they have for the supporters of their 'publishing work'.
To those who are threatened and falsely promised, it matters not if black is white - only that they can give their obedience.
if you were a mean spirited, nasty supernatural being that wanted to reek havok on human civilisation how would you go about doing it?
inspire people to write several versions of a book, call it holy, then get people to slavishly follow the version that they prefer and die for it when they come in contact with a different version.
could a kind, all powerful, gracious god have ever inspired such a book.
It's a two edged sword
- Thus says the LORD: Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death
- Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits
- to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. take heed then how you hear, for to him who has more will be given
"now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
and all the devils besought him, saying, send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
and forth with jesus gave them leave.
Turn the order around and you have a 'bible lesson' - a lesson in jwism even.
But these, like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and killed, reviling in matters of which they are ignorant
Biblically, people are often described as a particluar animal, based on their particular behaviour - in this case, animals that are both ignorant and yet see themselves superior regarding religion; but the man who is created in the image of God has dominion over 'beasts'.
-----------------------------------------
If even a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned. When someone who is like an irrational animal, attempts to touch the mountain they will be subject to the hardened hearts of others, and may be wounded.
-----------------------------------
Now a great herd of swine was feeding there on the hillside; and they begged him, "Send us to the swine, let us enter them." So he gave them leave. And the unclean spirits came out, and entered the swine; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and were drowned in the sea.
These particular 'beasts' consider both heaven and earth (are cloven-footed) but the swine don't graciously eat the food put before them and consider it (but does not chew the cud) and hence is also an irrational beast (unclean to you) that instead of contemplation, whines for more food - given the motivation the swine would run straight down and disappear into the sea of man.

Have you chewed over these stories long ?
was talking to 'anne' tonight and had a thought... (gotta be a first time for everything right!).
if you break the story down to brass tacks what really happened was this.
in eden the snake said "you don't need god!
Who told you you were naked ? the wtbts ?
